Organizational adjustments are being implemented to enhance the structure and support for our international regions.
Service is one of the key components in ScaleAQ’s portfolio and has shown significant growth in recent years. To further expand and reinforce our service capabilities, we have conducted a strategic assessment of the organization of our service activities, both in Norway and in our overseas regions, in the past months. Previously, our regions in Canada, Iceland, the UK, and Tasmania were part of the global sales department. In order to intensify the focus on service, we aim to elevate the priority and concentration on service in these regions, thus relocating them to a global service department alongside the Norwegian regional service departments. Global sales will primarily be conducted from Norway, with continued support from our foreign branches.
The priorities for the regions will include:
- Responsibility for service activities and outcomes in the respective region.
- Sale of service components and other parts, as well as inventory management.
- Compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Collaboration in marketing and sales with Norway, including project sales.
- Management of project sales towards Norway.
Jan Erik Kvingedal assumes the role of Global Service Director to reinforce control, support, predictability, and operational focus in service, both in Norway and in foreign regions. This move aims to enhance customer satisfaction, activity, and profitability. Organizational adjustments have been made to improve the structure. Our General Managers will now report directly to the Global Service Director and become part of our global service department.
These changes will also impact other departments within ScaleAQ Seabased. The service department has been part of Supply Chain in recent years, led by Jan Erik Kvingedal. To maintain the focus needed by both Service and Supply Chain, service has now been separated from Supply Chain. Therefore, Jan Erik Kvingedal is transitioning from his role as Supply Chain Director to his new role as described above. COO, Ståle Sæther, is working on solutions to continue managing Supply Chain. More information on this will follow. The change in Service has already been implemented.
We believe that these changes will provide better support, clearer areas of responsibility, and a more distinct chain of command. The implementation of Dynamics 365 in the regions is planned for 2024 and will contribute to a more seamless collaboration among the regions.
This change has been well-received in the regions, and we collectively see the potential in nurturing a global service organization.
