Happy International Women’s Day!
What would ScaleAQ have been without our talented women? Diversity is a competitive advantage and gender balance is an important dimension of diversity. Although diversity is much more than just gender. Diversity is about being unique in the form that everyone has their visible and invisible similarities and differences. Diversity is a result of us all being human, where no one is identical.
Several studies show that companies with diversity in top management give better results and a higher competitive advantage. A report from McKinsey & Co shows that the return on equity is up to 33 percent higher in companies where the management team has a diversity of ethnicities, and up to 21 percent higher where there is a gender balance.
Diversity helps to attract the best talent, improves the quality of decision-making processes, contributes to increased customer insight, increased level of employee satisfaction, and a more positive brand building.
An inclusive work environment where all employees are met as equals, are seen and respected for who they are, is a matter of course in ScaleAQ.
ScaleAQ is committed to eight of the UN’s sustainability goals. One of these goals are Goal 5 – Gender equality.
We commit to an inclusive workplace that promotes diversity and equality, where we ensure women’s full and equal opportunities for leadership. Our goal is to close the gender pay gap and to increase the overall share of women in ScaleAQ.
We are constantly getting a better gender balance in both the aquaculture industry and in ScaleAQ, but we still have a way to go. The aquaculture industry has traditionally been a male-dominated industry, but there are no good reasons why the gender balance should not be more even at all levels and in all parts of our value chain.
