ScaleAQ’s camera software Vision has been through a major upgrade the past year. Working closely together with Tasmania based customer Tassal and with our colleagues in ScaleAQ Oceania, we have been able to implement significant improvements to the way Vision handles our cameras.

Tassal is running the most advanced feed center in the world, feeding 25 sites, from 11 remote feeding rigs with a total of close to 400 cameras. Moving from site-based feeding to feed centers has been a journey not just for our customers but for our camera software as well, and Vision has now been optimized to better handle such large, distributed camera installations.

Improvements

  • Restructured the way Vision asks for available cameras. This effectively reduces the traffic from Vision to cameras and control ports resulting in more available bandwidth and less issues with unavailable streams and control ports for PTZ operations.
  • Automatic reconnect when the stream is available again after a network issue
  • Application startup time reduced significantly
  • The last selected site is now remembered in the camera selection popup box
  • Sites and cameras are now sorted in camera selection popup box
  • A thin black outline style on the in-stream text to increase readability in light conditions
  • Fixed large text issue when user had windows scaling activated
  • Added camera ip address to filename when doing image and video recordings
  • Added support for ONVIF protocol to support specific 3.part cameras
  • Added support for 3rd party camera models from Vivotek, D-Link and HikVision

Pilot customers

In addition to Tassal we have had several other pilot customers contributing to the development. Vision 1.2.86 has been in operation for several months for the following customers.

  • Lerøy Vest Rosendal, remote feeding 7 sites
  • Salmar Nord, remote feeding 15 sites
  • KF Oppdrett, remote feeding 5 sites
  • Cermaq IFarm Project
  • Tassal
