CEO Geir Myklebust has decided to leave after an intense and eventful journey in ScaleAQ. Geir joined ScaleAQ as CFO in 2018 and stepped further into the position as interim CEO, before eventually becoming permanent CEO of ScaleAQ. Geir has been involved in demanding and successful restructuring processes, and he has been an important premise provider for the solid position ScaleAQ holds today. There is great respect for the efforts Geir has put in.
ScaleAQ has become a solid group with a strong position as an advisor and supplier to the aquaculture industry. The Board of Directors and the owners (Kverva) are proud and satisfied with the development so far, and have great ambitions for the road ahead. Strategy work is now underway for the Group in close cooperation with both the Board and the owners, which will clarify the position we will take in the future and what is needed to succeed.
ScaleAQ is uniquely positioned to solve farmers’ needs and to lead the development of a sustainable aquaculture industry.
We have five strong divisions that create results individually, but also contribute to the whole being larger than the individual divisions. We have five skilled division managers who create development and progress in their respective divisions, but who also ensure that the whole is strengthened through synergies and interaction across the divisions. We are stronger together!
With ScaleAQ Seabased, ScaleAQ Software, ScaleAQ Chile, Moen Marin and Maskon, we are a leading player in the global aquaculture industry. We are still only at the beginning of our journey. Customer value, internationalization, and innovations will now be taken out in the future. We are facing a very exciting strategy process, and the potential is enormous.
Together we will shape the future of sustainable aquaculture. This is our mission, and our focus will continue to be to promote growth in the sector, optimize production methods, and contribute to improving and upgrading the entire industry. With a global staff of over 900 skilled employees, we are well positioned to make a significant impact on the aquaculture industry and its future. Across our divisions, we will contribute to growth in the aquaculture industry through innovative and sustainable solutions. We will be the fish farmer’s preferred partner in technology and infrastructure, and grow together with our customers internationally.
Geir’s last day in ScaleAQ will be October 31st.
The board is holding in the recruitment process for a new CEO. In the meantime, CFO Svein Vestermo will serve as interim CEO.
