Dear colleagues in ScaleAQ,
I had the pleasure to visit our organization in Chile last week.
It was really nice to meet our colleagues, see the ScaleAQ facility in Puerto Varas and visit key customers, and see how strong our foundation, reputation and position is becoming in Chile as well.
I meet most of our employees in Puerto Varas, and I was impressed by the people I met, the organization, and the passion and drive that was shown in all functions.
Although we have not been able to have much physical interaction between Scale Chile and Norway during the pandemic, ScaleAQ Chile have done an amazing job in building a strong Scale organization, based on our common values, passion for driving improvements, building a strong partnership with our customers.
I also enjoyed meeting the key people for some of our key customers – AquaChile, MOWI, MultiExport and Cermaq, giving a very good impression of Scale and the potential we have for the future.
It was especially nice to see one of the first fully remote operations centers in Chile, fully set up by ScaleAQ in Chile, at the HQ of MultiExport.
Key challenges in Chile are sea lions attacking the fish farms and some political uncertainty, but this giving an opening to more robust, sustainable, and exposed ScaleAQ solutions for the future.
I was also very pleased to see the focus and attention in ScaleAQ Chile put on employee health and security, as well as the focus on sustainability. Especially the assembly of the steel cages taken place at sea on the site under sometimes harsh conditions are both impressive and extremely tough operation that needs to be managed carefully – very well managed by our Service team – the warriors of the sea.
Based on the initial discussions with the customers, it seems also to be a very nice opportunity with our newly acquired company Maskon in Chile, combined with the local organization.
My ambition going forward is by combining our best efforts across countries and functions, we can together improve even more going forward, and together build an even stronger position for ScaleAQ in Chile going forward.
