Christian ready to challenge boundaries

– ScaleAQ has a very strong reputation. I want to bring more value to our customers,” says Chile’s new CEO, Cristian Sauterel.

– It’s really exciting. I’ve been counting down the days and I’m really looking forward to it.

ScaleAQ’s new CEO, Cristian Sauterel, is ready. After less than a week in the chair as head of our operations in South America, he has a clear ambition.

– We want to become an even stronger technology partner for a rapidly developing industry.

Extensive experience

Sauterel knows Chilean aquaculture very well. He comes from the role of Farming Production Manager at Australis Seafoods, where he was responsible for the production strategy in both freshwater and sea.

– The goal there was clear. Better efficiency, stronger biological results and a more resilient value chain from A to Z.

During their years in Australis, Sauterel points out that together they managed significant improvements in productivity, more sustainable operations and increased focus on fish health.

He worked at Mowi for an extended period, with large-scale health-related operations and structured, data-driven operations.

– I am genuinely honored to join ScaleAQ Chile and take on this exciting challenge. ScaleAQ has built a strong reputation for innovation and dedication to the aquaculture industry and I look forward to working with this talented team.

Chile with great opportunities

As you know, Chile is the world’s second largest salmon producer. Christian believes the opportunities are great.

– There is strong political support at the moment. “Stronger interaction in the industry can and will enable Chile to make the leap from primary volume production to a technological and sustainable beacon in international aquaculture,” explains Sauterel, who believes that ScaleAQ will play a key role.

– Together, we’ll continue to challenge, develop and deliver solutions that move the industry forward. We’re not just moving forward – we’re going further.
