Yesterday Monday 15. February 2021, the first fish were set out in Havlandet Pilot. This is a Pilot for the production of salmon up to 5 kg.

The original plan was to set out fish in mid-December 2020, but as a result of a damage to the reactor for water purification (MBBR – Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) this had to be postponed.

The repair was completed on Friday 12. February. There were therefore some hectic and long days at the end for carrying out absolutely necessary function tests before the fish could arrive. The good story is that the goal was reached and the first fish were set out yesterday, Monday.

The first hours of operation with fish in the facility have gone well and feeding of the fish has already started. There will be a need for adjustments and adaptations of the operation in the time forward, but it is as expected as a result of not having more than 2–3 days to test drive the facility.

There is a good dialogue with the customer and they already operate the facility on their own. In the future, ScaleAQ Landbased / AquaOptima will provide support to Havlandet to make necessary adjustments when operations stabilize.

I would like to thank all those involved who have been involved both on site and in the organization to ensure the delivery of this project. It will also be interesting to follow the development and growth of the fish in the future until it reaches its weight.
