Carlos Arenas steps down as CEO ScaleAQ Chile. – He has undoubtedly built our foundation in Chile, says CEO ScaleAQ Group, Audun Sivertsen.
After several years at the helm of ScaleAQ Chile, Carlos Arenas has decided to step down from his role as Chief Executive Officer. He has been part of the leadership team since 2006, and was appointed CEO following the merger in 2019.

Arenas (63) was hired as manager of Steinsvik, and became manager of ScaleAQ Chile after the merger between Steinsvik, ScaleAQ and AquaOptima in 2019.
Although stepping down as CEO, Carlos has agreed to continue contributing to the company as a Senior Consultant until his retirement.
Ben to Lead the Next Chapter
Morten Nordstad, Chair of the Board at ScaleAQ Chile and board member of ScaleAQ, will oversee the continued development of the company. He brings extensive experience from the aquaculture sector, including his tenure as CEO of the fish health company Pharmaq.

In addition to his long-standing experience as a fish farmer, Øknes has previously lived in Chile and worked for Mowi Chile.

Strengthens focus on growth
ScaleAQ Chile currently employs around 200 people.

Together with Morten Nordstad, Chair of the Board at ScaleAQ Chile, the process of recruiting a new CEO is now underway.
