Thomas Wiig has accepted a new role as Group CDO but will continue to have responsibilities at Seabased

We are pleased to announce that Thomas Wiig is taking on a new role in the group as Group CDO.

Through the strategy process, a need was identified for a group-wide role that can contribute to digital value creation beyond the good work already happening in the respective divisions. While we believe that much of the value creation will still occur within the divisions and close to the equipment, we have strong faith that as a group, we can create added value and synergies for our customers by generating digital value across all our divisions. However, realizing this group-wide potential requires dedicated focus, a clear mandate, and the right competencies to identify and realize it, which is the background for the establishment of a new role as Chief Digital Officer for the group.

We are very pleased that, after considering potential candidates, we once again find the best candidate for the job within our own organization. We have great confidence that Thomas is the right person for the role, based on his solid knowledge of large parts of the Scale organization, his technological understanding, strategic abilities, and commercial acumen, as well as his organizational strengths. These are qualities we believe will be crucial for success in the role.

From September 1, 2024, Thomas will join the group management and report to the CEO as Group CDO. The role is estimated to be a 50% position.

Thomas Wiig currently works at ScaleAQ Seabased as Technical Director of Technology Systems, and is, among other things, the product owner for cameras, etc. Thomas will continue to play an important role at Seabased and will dedicate 50% of his remaining time to this responsibility by continuing to lead the Technology Systems department, where he, together with good colleagues, has created significant growth and development. To free up time for his new role, several responsibilities that Thomas has had will now be delegated to others.
